About Us
The Career Academy Robotics team was established in 2015 by the still lead mentor David Ebersol. Team 5484 was the 5484th team to register with FIRST robotics, participating in the competition every year since.
There wasn’t a single student interested in joining the team when it was created, but after a day of talking to students he had a 10 member team. In the team’s first year, they won the Rookie All-Star award and competed in the State Competition. After their first year was a success, they qualified for the State Championship in 2016 and got placed very high in the competition.
From a small start in 2015 with 10 members, team 5484 now has 37 members and 6 mentors in 2020. Our mentors are focused on transforming these young adults into the generation of the future. The members are learning how to troubleshoot, think critically, design, and be creative. Our team is ready to compete and WIN the State Competition this year!
